Our Projects
How Stories Against Stigma Works
A Story
We transform real life stories shared by individuals into shareable resources such as children’s books, novels, blog posts and more.
Share
After creating a resource, we share these projects with the community to change conversations and fight stigma globally.
Support
The funds collected through the selling of created resources will directly support the individual sharing their story and help cover the costs of the next resource!
New Story
Once we have a new story to share, Stories Against Stigma will start the process all over again.
Project #1: Faith's Story
August 2023 - This story will come across in the form of a Children's Book - targeting the ages of 3-8.
This book is based on the true story of a girl named Faith, who suffers from a type of muscular dystrophy in a rural, impoverished area of Nigeria. Due to her disabilities, Faith has had to suffer through abuse and neglect from her own family and community.
Faith's story is powerful and needs to be shared.
Without Faith's consent and input into this story, this book would not be possible.

July 2024 - Book Published!

October 2024 - 25 books sold!

November 2024 - Faith receives a personal copy of her story!
Start of Project #2!
April 2024 - We need your expertise and creativity for a special project we’re wanting to try and start - designing a board game!
Stories Against Stigma is wanting to combine the stories and experiences of individuals who have lived experience with stigma into a board game. Whether this is an educational children’s board game, or an interactive board game for anyone, we aren’t sure yet! Therefore, we’re wanting your help!
We’re super passionate about this endeavour, but we know that creating something truly special requires input from a variety of perspectives - especially when it involves diverse experiences. That's where you come in!
Whether you're a seasoned board gamer with a knack for strategy or a creative thinker bursting with innovative ideas, we’d love to have your help in shaping this game into something amazing.

Do you have a story to spark our next project?
We would love to hear from you! This project can only exist through individuals sharing their own stories of experiences with stigma. If you have a story to share, whether it's your own or someone else's (with consent from the other individual), please reach out to us so we can start a conversation on how you could be a part of our next project!
